Great-uncle Hasan Kimil runs a print shop in Istanbul. For his orders, he regularly travels to Europe to source raw materials and machinery. The foundation for the later Hamburg-based company is laid in craftsmanship.
Osman Kimil joins the business.
On his purchasing trips to Europe, Hasan Kimil takes his nephew Osman Kimil along. Over several years, Osman learns the materials market, the supply chain and the European industrial network first-hand.
Unipack GmbH in Hamburg.
Osman Kimil founds Unipack GmbH in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg — initially as a pure film trading company for the European market.
First film slitting machine.
With the acquisition of the first film slitting machine, Unipack begins its own production. From pure trader to converter.
Move to Hovestraße.
Relocation to the current site on Hovestraße — in Hamburg's industrial and port area with direct motorway access. Short distances for raw materials, logistics and customers.
Machinery and product range grow.
In addition to the film slitting lines, center-fold, pouch-making as well as micro and macro-perforation machines are commissioned. In parallel, Unipack expands its stock range for customers in food, floristry, fruit & vegetables and retail.
Production & administration restructured.
New construction of production halls as well as office and staff facilities at the Hovestraße site. The foundation for today's capacity.
Full-range supplier with call-off stock.
