Why PET topseal film?
PET topseal film closes trays securely, opens cleanly and shows the product fog-free. The antifog finish prevents condensation from forming in the cold chain, the peel layer releases in a controlled way from PET, PP and board trays without fibre tear. The dimensionally stable PET outer layer runs on tray sealers and flowpack lines at high cycle rates and prints brilliantly.

What is PET topseal film?
PET topseal film, also called lidding film or sealing film, is the top film used to close trays on tray sealers or in flowpack lines. It consists of a dimensionally stable PET outer layer and a sealing layer of PE or sealing lacquer that bonds to the tray rim during sealing. Topseal film is the standard for fresh meat, salads, ready meals and all products displayed visibly in the chiller cabinet.
What does peelable mean for topseal film?
Peelable topseal film can be pulled off the tray cleanly by hand, without the film tearing or fibres remaining on the tray rim. Peel force is set through the sealing layer: easy peel for consumer packaging, medium peel for higher tightness. Fully sealing types without a peel function are used for frozen and transport packaging.
What does antifog mean for lidding film?
Antifog, also anti-fog, is a finish on the sealing side that lets condensation drain off as an invisible film rather than as droplets. This keeps the view of meat, salad or fruit clear even through temperature changes between cold store and shelf. Antifog topseal film increases shelf appeal and is practically mandatory for chilled fresh produce.
Which trays does PET topseal seal onto?
Depending on the sealing layer, PET topseal film seals onto PET and APET trays, PP trays, board-based trays with a PET or PE coating, and CPET trays for oven-safe ready meals. For MAP packaging under protective atmosphere we supply topseal film with an oxygen barrier, and micro-perforated film for breathing produce such as berries and salad.
