Why PO fine shrink film?
Polyolefin fine shrink film wraps around the product without wrinkles and crystal clear when shrunk, protecting it from environmental influences, dust, moisture and mechanical damage. Compared with PE shrink film, POF is thinner, more brilliant and printable; compared with PVC, it is chlorine-free, odour-neutral and recyclable. Cross-linked types achieve higher seal strength and puncture resistance at a lower thickness and run on high-speed lines.

What is POF shrink film?
POF shrink film, also known as PO film or polyolefin fine shrink film, is a multi-layer, biaxially oriented film made of polyethylene and polypropylene. Under heat in the shrink tunnel it contracts in both the machine and cross direction and wraps around the product like a second skin. It protects against environmental influences, dust, moisture and mechanical damage, and presents retail packaging crystal clear and high-gloss.
What properties does PO fine shrink film have?
PO film is crystal clear, brilliant, tear-resistant and puncture-resistant. It shrinks biaxially by up to 75 percent at 120 to 160 degrees Celsius, with low-temperature types starting from as low as 100 degrees. It is 100 percent food-safe under EC 1935/2004, chlorine-free, odour-neutral and recyclable in the LDPE 04 stream. It can be gravure printed up to 10 colours.
Linear or cross-linked?
Linear PO film is the universal standard film with soft shrink and good sealability. Cross-linked PO film is electronically cross-linked and achieves higher seal strength, puncture resistance and temperature resistance at a lower thickness, for example 11 or 15 microns. It is the choice for high-speed lines, heavy products and downgauging.
PO film, PE film or PVC film?
PE shrink film is thick, soft and tear-resistant and is suited to transport bundles such as six-packs and canned goods. PVC shrink film shrinks at low temperature but is chlorine-containing and poorly recyclable. PO fine shrink film combines brilliance, transparency and gloss with low thickness, food safety and recyclability, and has largely replaced PVC in retail packaging.
Antifog, anti-slip, high-speed: which finish?
Antifog shrink film prevents condensation and keeps the view of chilled food clear. Anti-slip film ensures secure stacking of packages on pallets and on the shelf. High-speed films are optimised for fast-running fully automatic machines with high cycle rates. Opaque and antistatic types round out the range for visual protection and electronics.
What is POF shrink film used for?
Typical applications include pizzas, baked goods and fresh produce, multipacks for beverages and dairy products, folding cartons for cosmetics, pharma and games, magazines, books and software, household goods and technical parts, and warehouse and shipping packaging.
